4 school friends from Alva academy meeting up for first time in 5 years – Flea, Mal, Hoss and Tinas. A hill walking trip to Glencoe in October. Weather forecast was not looking good – wet and dreary. But spirits high.So what happened? Some pleasant local ales. Laughter. Catching up. Old and new stories. Speculating on retirement dates although most not ready to hang up their boots. Finding out about new wives – it’s not a competition but apparently if it was Martin would be winning. And a glorious adventure on the imposing autumn hills with some blue skies and forgiving weather.Individually?Mark flipped again, to those days gone by when his heart was free and his eyes were dry. We found out he’s happy but he doesn’t know it! That may be a euphemism.Malcolm, one thing to remember when climbing - don’t look down. He had a little meltdown on the hill. “Don’t touch me” came the retort. However he made up for it with his story telling. Hoss rated it a solid 3.Doug – intensive training for the hill walking with some rowing. It stood him in good stead. However, not so good for descents. He needs a new pair of walking boots. Some great mimicry and comedic moments.Martin – he struggled to find the starting point for the walk – all the navigational gear and no idea! He was a bit of a light touch on the alcohol front. He came this weekend to come out of the closet. He’s having a spot of bother but remaining positive. He feels fine because of the bottom line.A great time had by all and plans afoot for next year.Final note: remember to get tested!
