Task 1: Conduct an in-depth analysis of the company's sustainability programme. Study the latest sustainability report of your company, their website, and any other relevant sources. A. Sustainability Goals: Identify and analyse the company's main sustainability goals. What targets do they have? By when do they aim to accomplish? To which SDGs do these goals link? B. Triple Bottom Line: Evaluate the company's approach to the Triple Bottom Line (economic, social, environmental). What are their most important achievements according to the report? Think in terms of reduced ecological footprint, positive impact on communities etc. C. Has your company been involved in a case of Greenwashing? If yes, please explain the case and whether you think it was really greenwashing and why.(Pro and con arguments are appreciated). If you can not find anything, try to build an argument as to why that is the case. Word count: 1000 words max. Task 2: Conduct an extensive stakeholder analysis for your client company by following these steps: A. Identify 10 stakeholders (at least 4 internal) and describe their role, interest, and influence based on the stakeholder analysis matrix used in class. Make sure your analysis shows a focus on the stakeholders specific to your client and is not general. B. After identifying your 10 stakeholders, create a stakeholder map based on influence and interest (just like the one discussed in class) describe the placement of each stakeholder shortly. C. Identify 5 negative externalities your client contributes to. Describe what type of externalities these are and shortly describe the causal relationship between your client and the externalities. Word count: Max 600 words excluding tables and figures. Task 3: Your company realises that they have to focus more on the social and environmental sustainability problems they are facing. • Which social sustainability issue would you advise them to start working on and why? What about an environmental sustainability issue? • Advise them on a partner organisation to work with on these issues. One partner for each issue. 1. Give a brief description on the organisation. 2. Explain why you advise them to work with this organisation? 3. What is the added value of that organisation you advise them to work with? The problems you suggest should be realistic problems which are relevant for your particular company (or known to be a problem in this particular type of business). Use a relevant source to confirm that the social problem you have chosen is a relevant issue. Word count: 600 max. Task 4: Pick one example of OR Propose a sustainability programme/ initiative of your company which is according to you an example of traditional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) focusing mostly on damage control and propose one example which is Creating Shared Value (CSV), integrating sustainability in the core business. Please explain why do you think one is an example of a more traditional form of CSR and the other one is an example of CSV. Add a stakeholder map for both examples and describe the interaction and power relation. Word count: Max 600 words excluding tables and figures Task 5: Pick one of the products/ services your company makes which is not yet part of a circular economy system and: • Provide 3 solutions you propose to the company to get a step closer to a closed loop system. Use the 5Rs and the PaaS 7-step model to guide you in this process. Make use of terminology! • Would there be any changes in environmental impact? Explain. • How would these solutions impact the different stakeholders who would be affected by your solution? Pick at least 3 stakeholders.
