One Saturday morning, Andy received a LINE message from his best friend Eddie, which requested a loan of NT$20,000 due to an urgent need for money. Eddie promised that he would repay Andy as soon as he received his salary the following month. Being a good friend, Andy immediately agreed to help and asked for Eddie’s bank account number. Eddie then provided his bank details, and without a second thought, Andy went to an ATM and transferred the money. After completing the transaction, Andy sent Eddie a message to check if he had received the money. Eddie, however, did not reply. Concerned, Andy went straight to Eddie’s house to see what was going on. When he arrived, Eddie was surprised to see him. It turned out that Eddie’s LINE account had been hacked, and the scammer had sent messages to all of Eddie’s friends asking for money. Eddie had only just found out about the scam and was trying to warn his friends. Learning that Andy had transferred money without hesitation, Eddie was touched and felt deeply sorry for his loss. They reported the incident to the police together, and afterwards, Eddie insisted on giving Andy NT$10,000. Despite being targeted by a terrible scam, their friendship emerged stronger than ever.
