My piece reflects more on Confucian principles because it talks about the impact that Beyoncé wants to leave on the rest of the world. Confucianism is about your role and structure in life. It teaches that you should care for the community. The song also talks about leaving the world a better place than before as well as leaving an impact. Confucianism is about the way of life and focuses on personal morality. This song also encourages individuals to think about how they want to be remembered and what legacy they wish to leave behind. Confusion taught the idea of self-cultivation. This would include self-reflection and personal growth. Confucian teachings advocate for continuous learning and moral development, which is echoed in this song's message about striving for greatness and making an impact. Lastly, the song talks about moral responsibility. The song encourages listeners to take responsibility for their actions and their contributions to the rest of the world. This would compare to Confucian teachings because they stressed the importance of ethical behavior and fulfilling one’s duties to family and society. “I Was Here” and Confucian teachings both inspire individuals to reflect on their lives, strive for personal growth, and make meaningful contributions to the world around them.
