Take TimeIt was Tuesday morning and Jake's mother was driving him to school. Asusual, they were cruising down busy Fortieth Street. Jake's mother wasdriving as fast as the speed limit and traffic allowed. Jake sat in the backseat, daydreaming as he looked out the window. They were passing a citypark, and it flew past him in a blur."That park is blocking our way," Jake's mother complained. “If I coulddrive right through it, we'd be at school in no time, but I have to drive althe way around it."The next day, as customary, Jake's mother was driving him to school. Jakewas looking out the window, but his thoughts were elsewhere. Suddenlyhe saw something shoot up from out of the trees. Just as quickly, itdisappeared. At least, he thought he saw something, but they had sped byso quickly that he was uncertain. The following day, once again Jake and his mother were on theirway to school. This time, Jake tried to focus his eyes carefully as theypassed the park. Tree after blurry tree rushed by, when-there! There itwas again!"Mom, I just saw something shoot up out of the park!" he exclaimed. “Ithink it was a huge jet of water."Really, honey?" his mother murmured. She was thinking of the thingsshe needed to do at work once Jake was dropped off safely at school."Can we go back and see?" he asked."No, we don't have time. You've got a busy day at school, and I have toomuch to do today myself."
