'Because of Camp' is a podcast about American summer camps, Caitlin the podcast host talks with her guests about the funny and sad parts, unforgettable moments, life lessons camp teaches you and their Because of Camp stories and impact camp has had on them in their life so far. The first episode dives into the good, the bad, and the ugly summer camps have to offer. Joining Caitlin to talk about this situation is Kellen Szumski, a three year summer camp staff member in roles such as program director for two years and one year Outdoor Living Skills instructor; Caleb Stewart, starting in 2018, as a teen camp counsellor and program specialist for two years and then a head counselor for another two years; Robbie Gurlonick, who had been a summer camp camper during their youth and in the year 2023 became a Health Director at camp. We all shared our time working at camp at Camp Helen Brachman, in Almond, Wisconsin. and I think it is important for each person to share their experiences working at camp by talking about the good parts camp offered those super special moments, the bad moments that enabled us to learn from our mistakes or adapt to challenges and then the ugly parts of camp that many listeners would be interested to hear that can happen when you work at a summer camp. I am looking for a podcast that has a fun energy to it, this podcast is about sharing each other's stories, therefore needs sound effects to help immerse listeners at home when being told stories. Ultimately this podcast offers guidance, a place for camp people to congregate and share special moments and learn from each other and share how much impact camp had on their lives. Each episode must be 25 minutes in length, this should include an intro and outro segment. The podcast does not have any ads or affiliations.
