He has been chief executive since its inception in 1994.The agency was acquired by WPP in 2012, operating alongside sister agency Grey within the AKQA Group after WPP merged the shops in 2020.Following Ahmed's departure, AKQA Group will be led operationally by the existing leadership team at AKQA and Grey in the interim.Ahmed said: “Serving AKQA’s team, clients and values over the past 30 years has been the greatest honour of my life. Founding AKQA at a young age was the start of an incredible journey and, if destiny allows, I look forward to another 30 years of meaningful work and making a difference.”Group MHenkel Consumer Goods, which owns the Schwarzkopf, Dylon and Oust brands, picked Group M as its European media partner following a competitive pitch against Dentsu and Interpublic Group.Group M, through Wavemaker, was the incumbent in nine markets covered by the review, including the UK, but its remit has now been expanded to another eight countries.The account is understood to be worth €500m (£416m).Lucky GeneralsBritvic-owned Robinsons picked Lucky Generals to handle its creative account following a competitive pitch.Lucky Generals took on VCCP, The Gate and Wonderhood Studios in the final stage of the process, which was handled by Booster Consulting.The Omnicom-backed shop takes over from Saatchi
