Zoran: Welcome back to another episode of "Digital Living!" I’m Zoran, and today we’ve got something exciting for you all – how AI, yes, artificial intelligence, can actually support your physical and mental wellbeing. But before we dive in, let me introduce my co-host for this episode. Beck, welcome!Beck: Thanks, Zoran! Hi, everyone, I’m Beck Stewart, a casual Digital Programs Officer here at the library. I’m also working on my PhD at UniSA, looking at Intergenerational Engagement in Immersive Technologies. And as part of my role, I get to help with multimedia production like this podcast, and video editing – which is so much fun. I’m passionate about digital literacy, and making sure everyone can access and benefit from all the cool digital tools out there.Zoran: Beck, it's great to have you on the show today! And for those who are new here, what we do on this podcast is explore different ways that technology intersects with our daily lives. Today, we’re talking about AI and health – two areas that are coming together in really interesting ways.Beck: Yeah, AI is moving beyond just automating tasks. It’s now becoming this tool that can help us lead healthier lives, both physically and mentally.Zoran: Exactly! And for a lot of us, that might sound a bit intimidating at first – like, how does AI even fit into my health routine? But it’s actually simpler than you think. AI-powered apps and devices can do things like track your sleep, monitor your exercise, and even give you personalized fitness or meal plans.Beck: Right! One great example is fitness tracking apps. AI can analyze your activity over time and recommend workouts tailored to your goals. Whether you’re into running, yoga, or just walking, there’s a program for you. And the best part? It adjusts as you progress, so it’s always challenging but not overwhelming.Zoran: Totally. And let’s not forget mental health – that’s a big one. Apps using AI can check in with your mood, suggest mindfulness exercises, and offer tips to manage stress. I’ve been using one myself that prompts me with short breathing exercises during the day. It’s been a game-changer for dealing with stress during long work hours.Beck: Oh, I love that! I use one that helps with meditation. And some apps even use AI to analyze your speech patterns and language, giving you feedback on your mood and stress levels based on what you’ve been talking about. It’s like having a pocket therapist, in a way.Zoran: That’s wild! And I think people sometimes underestimate how powerful these tools can be for mental wellbeing. You don’t need to wait until you’re really stressed out to use them – they can help you maintain a balanced mental state over time.Beck: Absolutely. Plus, these tools are so accessible now. Most of us already have a smartphone, and that’s all you need to start integrating AI into your health routine. You can track your sleep, monitor your steps, and even get AI-generated meal suggestions right from your pocket.Zoran: And it’s all about small, manageable changes. You don’t have to become a tech expert overnight or invest in expensive gadgets to benefit from these tools. It’s about finding what works for you. Like, Beck, do you have any favorite AI health tools you’ve been using?Beck: Yeah, actually, I’ve been using this app that tracks my sleep. It uses AI to analyze my sleep patterns and suggests improvements based on how much deep sleep I’m getting. It’s so helpful because it gives me actionable tips like when to reduce screen time or drink less caffeine before bed.Zoran: Sleep tracking is a game-changer. I’ve noticed the same – it helps you become more aware of your habits. I also use an app that suggests customized workout routines based on my energy levels and previous workouts. It’s like having a personal trainer in your pocket. It’s nice because it’s realistic; it knows when you’re having a low-energy day and adjusts accordingly.Beck: Oh, that’s really cool! It’s all about balance, right? And having AI tools to support that balance makes it much easier to manage, especially when life gets hectic.Zoran: Exactly. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking these tools are for extreme fitness buffs or tech enthusiasts, but they really work for anyone wanting to lead a healthier life. It’s about making it easy and personal.Beck: Yeah, and AI can be that gentle nudge we need sometimes. It’s not about being perfect, but about making small adjustments and staying on track.Zoran: That’s so true. And for anyone listening, who might feel overwhelmed by the idea of adding AI into their wellness routine, our advice is simple: start small. Pick one area you want to focus on – maybe it’s sleep, or mindfulness, or fitness – and try out one app. See how it feels.Beck: Exactly. It’s not about doing everything all at once, it’s about finding what fits with your lifestyle. And if you try something and it doesn’t work for you, there’s no harm in switching things up.Zoran: Definitely! Well, that’s about all the time we have for today, but hopefully, you got a sense of how GenAI can fit into your health routine in a really practical, accessible way.Beck: Thanks for tuning in, everyone! And remember, whether it’s fitness, sleep, or mental health, there’s probably an AI tool out there that can help you stay balanced and healthy.Zoran: Couldn’t have said it better myself, Beck! Thanks for joining us today. We’ll be back soon with more tips on how to live your best digital life.Beck: Bye for now!Zoran: See you next time!
