Welcome, everyone, to Call Her Daddy! I’m Alex Cooper, and today we have a very special guest, the one and only Emma Chamberlain. Emma, thanks for joining us. We have a lot to talk about today, especially regarding the recent controversy that’s been blowing up around your podcast. How are you holding up?
emma_chamberlain
Hey, Alex! Thanks for having me. It’s been a tough time, but I’m here to be honest and transparent with my audience. I know I’ve made a mistake, and I want to take this opportunity to address it head-on. I’m ready to talk about everything and learn from this experience.
alex_cooper
So, let’s dive right in. Why did you not screen the candidate appropriately? People are really questioning how this guest was chosen, and it’s a critical point to address. What went wrong, and how do you plan to fix it?
emma_chamberlain
I take full responsibility for this. I didn’t properly research this guest before having them on the podcast, which was a mistake. It’s my job to ensure that everyone who comes on the show aligns with the values I want to represent. I should’ve done more research and been more cautious, and I deeply regret not doing so. I’m learning from this and making changes to how I approach the guest selection process.
alex_cooper
I can imagine how tough that must have been. It’s important to be transparent about where things went wrong. Now, do you share the same beliefs as this person? It’s crucial to clarify where you stand, especially since having someone on your podcast can sometimes give the impression of endorsement.
emma_chamberlain
No, I do not share their beliefs. Having someone on the podcast doesn’t mean I agree with everything they stand for, and I want to make that clear. I never intended to support or endorse their controversial views, but I can see how having them on the show might give that impression. I want to make sure my values are always clear to my audience.
alex_cooper
That’s really important to clarify. So, what’s the relationship between you two now? Do you still stay in touch, or is it just a one-time thing that happened on the podcast?
emma_chamberlain
There is no relationship beyond the podcast interview. We don’t stay in touch, and I don’t have any personal connection with them. It was simply a conversation for the podcast and nothing beyond that. I want to be clear that there’s no ongoing relationship or support from my end.
alex_cooper
That’s really helpful to know. Moving forward, how can you ensure this won’t happen again? What steps are you taking to improve your guest selection process and avoid similar issues in the future?
emma_chamberlain
I’m learning from this, and I’m making changes to how I approach the guest selection process. I’ve already begun to consult with people who can help me navigate these decisions better and be more informed. I will also be more personally involved in this process. I’m committed to doing better and ensuring that every guest on my podcast aligns with the values I want to represent.
alex_cooper
That’s really commendable. It’s clear you’re taking this seriously. The impact on your podcast must have been significant. How do you think this has affected your audience and the community you’ve built?
emma_chamberlain
It’s been a big disappointment for everyone, and I understand that. I don’t take your trust lightly, and I’m fully aware of how this mistake might make you feel. I get it—it’s a tough pill to swallow. But the reason I started this podcast was to create a space where we could have open, honest conversations and learn from one another. I’m still committed to that vision, and I’m using this moment as an opportunity to grow and improve.
alex_cooper
That’s a really powerful statement. Why should listeners continue listening to your podcast and supporting you through this? What do you want to say to them directly?
emma_chamberlain
I’m dedicated to earning back your trust. I truly hope you’ll continue to be part of this journey with me. I know it will take time, but I’m committed to creating content that aligns with your expectations and values. I’m here to learn, grow, and make sure this doesn’t happen again. I’m grateful for your support and understanding.
alex_cooper
That’s really touching, Emma. It’s clear you’re taking this seriously and are committed to making things right. What have you learned from this experience, and how do you plan to apply these lessons moving forward?
emma_chamberlain
I’ve learned the importance of being more cautious and thorough in my decision-making process. I’ve also learned the value of transparency and accountability. I plan to apply these lessons by being more hands-on with the guest selection process, consulting with experts, and always keeping my audience’s best interests in mind. This experience has been a wake-up call, and I’m using it to become a better creator and person.
alex_cooper
That’s a great way to look at it. Finally, how do you plan to move forward from here? What’s next for you and your podcast?
emma_chamberlain
I’m focusing on the future and the content I want to create. I’m planning to bring on guests who inspire and educate, while also being mindful of the values I want to represent. I’m also working on some new projects and collaborations that I’m really excited about. I’m determined to make this a turning point and to continue building a community that we can all be proud of.
alex_cooper
Well, Emma, thank you so much for being so open and transparent today. I think it’s really important for creators to take responsibility and learn from their mistakes. I’m sure your audience will appreciate your honesty and commitment. Thanks for joining us on Call Her Daddy, and we wish you all the best moving forward.
