The Ambitious Little Rooster

Hey everyone! Let me tell you about this little rooster I know. You know, the type who thinks he can fly, swim, and climb trees? I mean, buddy, you're not a superhero - you're a chicken! I mean, how did he think he was gonna learn to fly? He’s got a head like a brick and wings like oven mitts!

So this little rooster sees a big goose flying around like it’s the audition for the next superhero movie. He's like, 'Hey, big goose! Teach me to fly!' And the goose is like, 'Sure, but you might want to try a trampoline first!' I mean, can you imagine this rooster flapping around and crashing like a kid on a sugar rush at a birthday party?

Then, he sees a duck swimming in the pond. He runs up all excited, 'Duck! Duck! Can you teach me to swim?' The duck, bless its little heart, is like, 'Sure thing, but first, do you have flippers? No? Okay, here’s a life jacket!' Next thing you know, this poor rooster’s flailing about, looking like he’s in a water ballet gone wrong. Somebody call the lifeguard, we have a poultry emergency!

And don't get me started on climbing trees! This rooster sees a cat and goes, 'Hey kitty, teach me to climb!' The cat just rolls its eyes, like, 'First off, you’re a chicken, not a squirrel. Second, do you even have claws? You know trees are for climbing, not for sitting around and looking ridiculous!' So here’s the rooster, trying to scramble up a tree like he's got a shot at the Olympics, but instead, he’s auditioning for 'America’s Funniest Home Videos'!

But you know what? At the end of the day, he goes back to his mom all sad, and she says, 'Sweetie, it’s okay if you can’t fly or swim or climb. Just find what you’re good at!' So, who here has ever tried something they were awful at? Come on, raise your hands! Yeah, we’ve all been there! I tried to be a barista once… now I just brew bad decisions!

So, the rooster finally figures out he can catch bugs and crow beautifully! I guess the moral of the story is that you don’t have to be a flying, swimming, climbing genius to be special. Just embrace what you are! And if you happen to be a clucking fowl, then strut your stuff and bug those around you! Thank you, you’ve been awesome!
