Your recent exhibition, 'Echoes of the Past,' has received incredible feedback. Can you tell us what inspired this particular body of work?

c

Flora Turner

Absolutely! The inspiration came from my fascination with memories and how they shape our identities. I wanted to explore the connections we have with our past through visual storytelling.

i

Mike Anderson

That’s a profound idea. How do you go about translating those memories into visual art? What’s your creative process like?

c

Flora Turner

My process is quite organic. I usually start with sketches and a lot of brainstorming. I also incorporate personal artifacts and stories from my life and those around me. It becomes a collaborative memory-making exercise, if you will.

In this age of technology, how do you see it influencing your work or the art scene in general?

c

Flora Turner

Technology has opened up so many possibilities for artists. It allows for new mediums and ways to connect with audiences. However, I believe there’s still something irreplaceable about traditional methods of creating art that fosters genuine emotional connections.

i

Mike Anderson

That’s an interesting perspective. As a storyteller through your art, are there specific themes or messages you hope to convey?

c

Flora Turner

Yes, I hope to evoke a sense of nostalgia and reflection. I want people to think about their own stories and how they fit into the larger narrative of humanity. Art has the power to connect us.

i

Mike Anderson

Looking ahead, what are some projects or themes you’re excited to explore in your future work?

c

Flora Turner

I’m really interested in exploring the concept of community and shared experiences. I want to create interactive installations that invite participation and dialogue. It’s about transforming the viewer from a passive observer to an active participant.

i

Mike Anderson

That sounds amazing! Before we wrap up, is there any advice you’d like to share with aspiring artists?

c

Flora Turner

I would say, stay true to your voice and don’t be afraid to take risks. Art is about expressing yourself and evolving. Remember, every great artist started somewhere, so keep creating and sharing your vision.
