Let’s start with your recent film project. I hear that your new movie, 'The New Beginning', marks a significant shift in the type of roles you've been choosing. What inspired this change?

Emma Stone

Absolutely, it does feel like a shift for me. I've been really drawn to stories that challenge me and that explore different facets of life. 'The New Beginning' is a powerful narrative about resilience and finding one’s voice, and I felt it was a story worth telling.

That sounds incredible. How did you prepare for this role, and what was the most challenging aspect for you?

Emma Stone

Preparing for this role involved a lot of research and conversations with people who had gone through similar experiences. The most challenging part was tapping into emotions that were so raw and real. But in the end, it was incredibly rewarding to bring that story to life.

Switching gears a bit, in addition to your work, you've also been vocal about personal growth. How has your journey shaped your perspective on life and your career?

Emma Stone

It's been quite a journey, honestly. With each project, I try to learn something new about myself. I've faced my share of struggles, but those moments taught me to embrace vulnerability and to not shy away from challenges. It’s all part of growing and evolving.

That's inspiring, Emma. Do you find that this personal growth translates into your performances?

Emma Stone

Definitely! I think the more we experience in life, the richer our performances can be. I aim to bring authenticity to my characters, and my experiences definitely fuel that authenticity.

In your career, you've seen significant changes in Hollywood. What do you think about the evolving landscape of the film industry?

Emma Stone

It's fascinating, really. The industry is becoming more inclusive and diverse, which is a step in the right direction. I believe that the stories we tell and how we tell them matter more than ever. There’s a responsibility to represent different voices.

Jake Thompson

As someone in the industry, what do you think can be done to further promote this inclusion?

Emma Stone

There needs to be a commitment from everyone involved - from studios to actors to audiences. Supporting stories from underrepresented voices and championing projects that focus on diverse narratives is crucial. We all have a role to play.

Jake Thompson

You mentioned stories that resonate. Who are some of your biggest inspirations in the industry?

Emma Stone

I admire a lot of people! Meryl Streep is a huge inspiration; her range and depth are just awe-inspiring. I also look up to directors like Greta Gerwig and Chloé Zhao who are doing such groundbreaking work.

It's great to see you highlighting those voices. Moving into social issues, how do you think films can address important topics in a meaningful way?

Emma Stone

Films have a unique ability to spark conversations. When done thoughtfully, they can bring awareness to social issues and inspire change. It’s about presenting the truth with compassion and understanding.
