Thank you for having me, Sarah. It's a pleasure to be here.

Let's dive right in. You have a new film coming out that tackles some heavy themes. Can you tell us what inspired this project?

Oliver Stone

This film is very much a reflection of our times. I wanted to address the ongoing struggles we face socially and politically. The inspiration came from real events and my desire to provoke thought and discussion.

Sarah Thompson

You have a reputation for making films that challenge the status quo. Do you feel a responsibility as a filmmaker to address these issues?

Oliver Stone

I do feel a sense of responsibility. Film is a powerful medium, and it can influence people's perspectives. I believe that storytelling can be a catalyst for change, and I want to use my platform to shed light on important issues.

Sarah Thompson

Looking back at your career, what do you think has been the most challenging project you’ve worked on?

Oliver Stone

Each project presents its own challenges, but I would say 'Platoon' was particularly tough due to the emotional toll it took. It was a deeply personal project that required me to confront my own experiences in Vietnam.

You often explore controversial topics in your films. How do you handle the criticism that comes with that?

Oliver Stone

Criticism is part of the job. I believe in what I create, and while not everyone will agree with my perspective, I welcome dialogue. It’s essential for the growth of our society.

What advice would you give to young filmmakers starting their careers today?

Oliver Stone

Stay true to your vision. Film is an art form, and your perspective is unique. Embrace the challenges and be persistent. Also, don't shy away from exploring difficult subjects; they often lead to the most impactful stories.

As we wrap up, what can we expect from you in the future? Any new projects on the horizon?

Oliver Stone

I have a couple of projects in mind, including a documentary series. I want to continue exploring themes that matter and telling stories that resonate deeply with audiences.
